The Pure Coppicing of Sweet Chestnut relieves the pressure on using these slower growing species. The reason for the quick growth of Chestnut is that there is very little sapwood in the trunk; this allows a larger proportion of the tree to be used.

As a result, Coppicing is very sustainable, as well as leaving virtually zero waste.
